Sightings of Cù Bòcan are rare, fleeting, always terrifying. Pursued relentlessly, a distillery worker stopped to face the beast, compelled beyond all reason to touch its dense black fur. Reaching out, hand trembling, he saw the hound dissolve before him leaving nothing but an inky blue cloud of smoke, spirited away across the peat moorland...
Nose: A sweet bouquet, full of honey, butterscotch and toffee apples. A hint of vanilla is met with the faint smoke of burning heather. Chilli infused chocolate, lemon syrup and a very slight hint of smoked bacon emerge.
Palate: Cotton candy and maple syrup are complimented by a gentle touch of peat smoke, bringing a rounded earthy note to the taste. Dark chocolate, winter spice and poached fruits leave a warming suggestion of Christmas pudding.
Finish: Full and rounded, the smoky sweetness evolves on the palate, elegantly complemented by soft orchard fruits.
