Stronachie was a highland distillery that was operational in the 1800’s before complete closure in 1928. Independent bottles, A. D. Rattray, have sourced a 1904 bottle of original Stronachie which has they sampled from to re-launch the Stronachie brand. ‘Stronachie’ is now produced at Benrinnes distillery, chosen as the closed current-day distillery that closely matches the original Stronachie flavour. This is the 10 year old expression of Stronachie which is available as a 18 year old.
Nose: Soft honey, earthy heather and malty sweetness.
Palate: Smooth with luscious honey and biscuits, then lingering pepper and cereal notes.
